Description After my good friend Phil (thank you!) sent me a tone match of the guitar tone from 'For the Love of God', it suddenly verified the fact that he did indeed use a Soldano SLO-100 amp, when all this time I thought he had used a souped-up José Arrendondo modded Marshall 100-watt Plexi. Regarding the patch, I couldn't decide whether I wanted the Drive block's Drive knob at 10% and the Amp block's Drive knob at 50%, or the Drive block's Drive knob at 0% (and just used as a treble booster) and the Amp block's Drive knob at 100%, so I went for the latter as this sounds closest to the original tone in my opinion. Your setup/guitar pickups/ears will be different to mine, though. You may be wondering why I didn't tone-match it since many of you would say this would've been easier, but I often find two problems about this: 1) Tone matching - as great and useful as it is - will never help you truly learn about how each amp sim 'really' works. And 2) I tend to find that tone matching usually adds a bit of 'artefacting' to the final result - slightly abnormal 'feel' or EQing etc. Anyway that's enough yappin'. If you liked this tone and would like to help me out a little, then please head over to https://www.facebook.com/MarkLumsleyGuitarist and give my page a 'like'. Also maybe I can help YOU out with some Axe-Fx tones. Enjoy!
